SA: Adelaide
Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, is a small elegant city with the city centre is laid out on a grid of wide streets with gracious colonial architecture surrounded by parklands. It is a city of pubs, cafes, restaurants, fresh food and wine and climate encourages a relaxed lifestyle. The inner city attractions are within easy walking distance. SA: Adelaide Hills
Just 20 minute drive from the city centre and you're in the Adelaide Hills where you can sample country life with great food, fine wines, stunning scenery and quality accommodation. There are many vineyards in the region, an abundance of fresh produce, award winning restaurants, cafes and bakeries, antique shops and galleries. You can enjoy the Hills at any time - experience the changing seasons and enjoy the panoramic views of the hillsides draped with steep vineyards and orchards.
SA: Barossa
Only an hour's drive north of Adelaide takes you to the Barossa famous for wines, festivals, and a lively heritage. The Barossa has over 50 wineries ranging from some of Australia's largest wine companies through to smaller individual winemakers. You can discover this region's heritage in local restaurants, galleries and other attractions. Take a winery tour in a limousine, vintage car or mini bus, or float through the Valley in a hot-air balloon.
SA: Clare Valley
Less than two hours from Adelaide will bring you to the historic settlements of the Clare Valley. The first vines were planted in 1842 - there are now more than 30 cellar doors in the region. A pioneer history, beautiful landscapes makes this one of Australia's most charming touring regions.
SA: Eyre Peninsula
The Eyre Peninsula is known for its 2,000 kilometres of ruggedly beautiful coastline and contrasting vast desert plains. With a length of over 1,000 kilometres from Whyalla on the east to the Western Australian border and from the Gawler Ranges in the north to Port Lincoln 400 kilometres to the south, it offers unspoilt nature at its rugged best. The Eyre Peninsula is the perfect escape. You can walking along deserted beaches, go blue water sailing or take it easy and go fishing.
SA: Fleurieu Peninsula

Just a short drive south from Adelaide and you arrive at the Fleurieu Peninsula. The Peninsula curves south from Adelaide down to Cape Jervis where you can catch the ferry Kangaroo Island. 40 minutes south of Adelaide takes you through The McLaren Vale winemaking region, located between hills and the sea. To the south east is Hindmarsh Island close to the mouth of The River Murray. To the east sloping hillsides and picturesque country towns. You can go whale watching near Victor Harbor from June to October.
SA: Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island, only 120 kilometres south west of Adelaide, is the third largest off the Australian mainland. Only 16 kilometres off the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Kangaroo Island offers 480 kilometres of coastline, stunning natural beauty and many national and conservation parks. The island's isolation and limited development has ensured an abundance of wildlife living in a protected natural environment.
SA: Limestone Coast
The Limestone Coast lies halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne about a four-hour drive from either city. The region stretches south down the coast from the Coorong National Park to the Victorian border, and inland through farming country to the famous Coonawarra wine region. The Limestone Coast is named after the bedrock that provides a natural filter for its vineyards and also gives the region the unique terra-rossa soil of the Coonawarra.
SA: Murraylands
The region stretches along the Murray River from Swan Reach to Wellington. The Murray is one of the world's great rivers and dominates this region. It carves its way past steep sandstone cliffs, giant red gums, wetlands and vast tracts of Mallee country. Visitors have the choice of exploring old growth Mallee, visiting wildlife and zoological sanctuaries and river cruising.
