Qld: Brisbane

The Capricorn Region is about a 6 hour drive or one hour flight north of Brisbane. The major city is Rockhampton sitting on the tropic of Capricorn. It is home to many unique places, experiences and people. You can try Australian rural life at a farm stay in premier beef cattle country or try fossicking in the Sapphire Gemfields the largest fields in the southern hemisphere. Qld: Fraser Coast South Burnett

Qld: Gladstone
The Gladstone Region - about a 5 hour drive north of Brisbane is the centre of the Southern Reef. It is a unique area of Queensland with Gladstone one of Australia's busiest harbours. You can take an industry tour or visit nature-based attractions. Or take a boat across to the Great Barrier Reef to Lady Musgrave Island or Heron Island - a world famous coral cay. You can go turtle watching in season or enjoy at any time one of the best diving locations in the world.
Qld: Gold Coast
Less than an hour south from Brisbane, you’ll find the Gold Coast - is one of Australia's leading holiday destinations. Over 70 kilometres of coastline the Gold Coast offers beaches, World Heritage Listed rainforests, theme parks, championship golf courses, shopping and nightlife. In the hinterland are World Heritage Listed rainforests, wilderness parks and wineries.
Qld: Mackay
Half way between Brisbane and Cairns, is the Mackay region one of Queensland's most unspoilt destinations. You can take it easy on unspoilt beaches, the Great Barrier Reef and nearby islands. Visit pioneer townships and sugar mills and the region's Historical Hinterland. At Eungella National Park and Finch Hatton Gorge is luxuriant scenery and wildlife. Qld: Outback
Queensland's Outback covers most of the state. South of the tropics and west of the Great Diving Range it boarders New South Wales to the south, South Australia to the south west and The Northern Territory to the west. You can visit world-renowned dinosaur sites, visit major mining towns such as Mt Isa and the historic towns of Longreach, Blackall and Winton.
Qld: Southern Downs
Easily accessible in less than 2 hours drive from Brisbane are The Southern Downs where you can discover the natural wonders, country hospitality and great food and wines of South East Queensland. You can take a wine trail or sample fresh fruit and local produce while driving through the rolling hills of the Darling Downs farmlands or the striking national parks. Qld: Sunshine Coast

Qld: Toowoomba & Golden West

Townsville is 1400 km north of Brisbane and 350 km south of Cairns. Located in the heart of the Tropics with beautiful beaches and verdant rainforest. Visit Magnetic Island, Dunk Island or Hinchinbrook Island, explore national parks, museums and old gold mining towns such as Charters Towers or Ravenswood. Qld: Tropical North Queensland
Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and tropical North Queensland is where the rainforest meets the reef. The Great Barrier Reef offering underwater riches of stunning coral and sea life and superb tropical rainforests of the Daintree. Relax on rainforests, amiable seaside towns such as Port Douglas and Mission Beach. Qld: Western Downs
About three hours west of Brisbane are the Western Downs with signs of early Australian European history, ancient national parks and rock formations. Follow major highway routes to tour Cobb and Co country, cattle saleyards, fossicking and fishing spots and national parks. Visit centres such as Roma, Taroom, St George and Surat and view Aboriginal rock art sites.
