OWNERS COMMENTS Hunter River Mountain Retreat is listed on hundreds of websites, our most popular being stayz.com where we have an average of 10,000 views per annum. We are live on wotif.com, other sites include rentahome.com, totaltravel.com, bookeasy.com and the list goes on. We don’t advertise in any magazines or newspapers, but are booked out nearly every weekend, and always full throughout school holidays. Our Hunter River Mountain Retreat website allows guests to email direct from the website.
A majority of our bookings are word of mouth, where people tell friends and come for return visits.
Since the Day Spa commenced operation in 2006, it has enhanced the ‘girl’s weekends’ and ‘hens weekends’ market and is booked every weekend and many weekdays. We offer winery tours daily from the cabins. These tours are booked through Shadows Wine Country Tours, who I have contracted since opening. This is also a big draw card for the Retreat.
Generally speaking, the Retreat is booked out weekends 5-6 weeks in advance in the winter season, and 2-4 weeks in the summer season. It is progressively growing more popular as words spreads of the Retreat and Day Spa.
Apart from having some of the best views in the Hunter Valley, the wildlife and birdlife is abundant, with the natural Australian bush at your doorstep.
