Secluded five star coastal retreat commanding spectacular ocean views across Kangaroo Island. With first class appointments, friendly Australian hospitality, fine dining and a relaxed atmosphere, you will feel like our very special houseguest. With just three guest suites and a maximum of 6 guests at any time, peace and privacy is assured. The neutral décor and contemporary design blends naturally into the stunning backdrop of bushland, ocean and sky on pristine Kangaroo Island. The beautiful long white beach of Emu Bay is a few minutes down the track. Swim in the clearest most aqua sea or take a walk along the 5km beach that stretches around the bay; even in the height of summer it is usually deserted apart from dolphins playing in the waves, pelicans and sea eagles soaring overhead and fairy penguins at night. Seascape is owned and operated by Jenny & Jean-Pierre. Between them they have many years in hospitality and purpose built Seascape to exacting five star standards to ensure the ultimate comfort in your ‘home away from home’.
Our passion for fresh produce and regional flavours guarantee our fine dining reputation. Meals feature Kangaroo Island produce and the menu changes according to seasonal availability. King George Whiting, Prime Lamb, American River Oysters, Free-range Chicken, Grain Fed Beef, Sheep’s milk Haloumi Cheese & Yoghurts and Honey from the only pure strain of Ligurian bees in the world are regularly featured, complemented with Island wines and desserts that are simply delicious.
The spacious grounds of five acres are surrounded by native bush gardens visited by wallabies, kangaroos and many species of birds. The lodge was designed and positioned to capture the panoramic vistas over the beach of Emu Bay, across the island to the ocean beyond from every angle.
All three guest suites overlook these stunning views and feature luxurious king size beds; neutral décor; r/c air-conditioning; ceiling fans; dimmer lighting; writing table; comfy sofas; TV/DVD; full width glass doors onto the verandah; private bathrooms with robes, hairdryer & toiletries. If you wake early enough you can watch the spectacular sunrises across the bay from the comfort of your bed.
The open plan guest lounge features tea and espresso coffee bar, wood fire, ducted evaporative cooling, large selection of books and magazines and overlooks the mesmerising views. The dining room adjoins and leads onto the spacious deck where you can relax and watch the changing hues of sunset over the bay, search for the southern constellations in the clearest of night skies or enjoy al fresco dining in summer.
For European guests, your host also speaks French, Dutch and German.
