"2002 Alpine Excellence Award Winner. Boutique B&B - Sugar Maples Dinner & Doona®, offers you a romantic getaway in quiet, exclusive accommodation with great food and local cool climate wines. Located 10 min. from Bright - nestled in the foothills of Mt. Buffalo National Park in the heart of the High Country and set on 11 acres in the picturesque Buckland Valley with beautiful mountain views. Easy access on sealed road and only a short walk to river with waterfall swimming hole. Activities: Skiing at the nearby resorts of Falls Creek, Mt. Hotham & Mt. Buffalo, wine tasting at local wineries, horse riding, scenic microlight flights, trout fishing, bicycle Rail Trail, mountain biking, golf, walking, gold panning, paragliding, photography, canoeing. Visit the Autumn & Spring festivals and admire the breathtaking scenery of the changing seasons (the Sugar Maple trees on our property are ablaze with magnificent shades of red, orange and yellow during autumn). After a day exploring the surrounding areas, come home to enjoy a hot jacuzzi in the large spa room with wood heater and cosy seating area; then perhaps a drink in front of an open fire in the lounge and a gourmet dinner prepared by the Hilton trained chef and served in the candlelit dining room (individual tables) or on the terrace during the warm summer nights. In spring & summer, relax with a book on the terrace and watch the resident King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas feed or walk down to the waterfall swimming hole for a cooling dip or fish for trout. The accommodation, which is separate to the host's, includes 3 tastefully decorated bedrooms (one with queen size bed, sofa bed, walk-in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom, 2nd also with queen size bed and 3rd with 2 single beds (or King size), 1 guest share bathroom & 1 private. The tariff includes an excellent continental breakfast, but special breakfasts are available - e.g. berry pancakes with sugar maple syrup; smoked salmon scrambled eggs; full English breakfast etc. We offer a set 3-course dinner menu, which changes on a daily basis. Our premises are fully licensed (not BYO with dinner) and we have a good selection of local wines plus beers & drinks available. We make our own muesli, lemon butter, jams, bread, cookies, cakes, patČ etc. Celebrate your birthday, honeymoon or anniversary here in a romantic atmosphere. Children & dogs by arrangement only.
